MYO Make Your Own was launched during the spring 2020 with a simple idea; to make creating with yarn sustainable and more accessible to everyone who want to learn handicrafts.
In MYO's yarn shop you can now find high quality yarns for crocheting, macramé and knitting that are easy to handle, even for beginners.
MYO Make Your Own was started in the spring of 2020 with a simple idea; to make crafts sustainable and more accessible to anyone who wants to learn how to create. MYO comes from the Swedish mountains, from a small village called Åre.
Behind MYO are us, Oona von Zweygbergk and Salli Skött, two friends who themselves enjoy creating useful things (anything, really) from sustainable materials. Through this concept, we want to share the joy of creation by taking the entire craft industry in a direction that better meets those who do not know how to get started with creation. We also put our focus on sustainability, something that the "craft industry" traditionally doesn't seem to have given much thought to.
The logic is simple; by creating yourself, from sustainable / recycled materials, you avoid burdening the environment with new products, produced from new materials.
We make these MYO Make Your Own product packages as simple & beginner-friendly as we can. We create both the design and the instructions ourselves, as well as photographing and filming the instructions with high quality. We have noticed ourselves, when we have learned to crochet or tie new models, that video works very well for learning - but only if the material you hold in your hand is the same as on the video. Therefore, we have instructional videos for all MYO products on our Youtube channel.
MYO's ready-made kits are the perfect start when you want to learn how to crochet or tie macramé. You can easily take your crochet or macramé almost anywhere with the smart bag you get - on the train to the next adventure, an evening on the couch with your favorite music or a cozy hangout with your group of friends. Learning to create should be fun, so it should also be easily accessible & convenient. That's why MYO exists.
